Celebrities have the potential to be both a blessing and a curse when it comes to marijuana and the whole legalisation debate. In some instances, they may come out with deeply insightful statements, they take a stand against ridiculously outdated law and a generally do their bit for the cause. In other instances, however, they say or do the most stupid things imaginable, which do little other than give the cause a painful kick in the wrong direction. Nevertheless, the one thing we do know for sure these days is that if you were to create a random list of 100 celebrities, chances are at least 75% of them would be fans of marijuana.

But while there will always be those like Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and Snoop Dogg who rarely appear on Instagram not puffing away purely for pleasure, there are also quite a few celebrities who turn to cannabis for medical reasons.  The world may only just be starting to scratch the surface when it comes to the incredible medicinal properties of marijuana, but those who use it for health purposes have known for quite some time just how life changing it can be. It may be a while before full legalisation becomes the new norm, but it’s good to know that in the meantime there are plenty of famous faces campaigning for the same as the rest of us.
