Last but not least, the legalization of cannabis has in fact led to a marked decrease in the number of teenagers and youngsters trying and routinely using the stuff. Quite the opposite to the cries and warnings of critics worldwide, teens just aren’t as interested in cannabis once it becomes legal and mainstream. A study from 2016 that made it to the Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry found that habitual use of cannabis among teens had plummeted 24% between 2002 and 2013.
