In terms of prevention, the really bad news is that for the time being at least, there’s really nothing you can do about red eye. That is at least, if you are the kind of person who is somewhat inclined to severe eye-reddening every time you smoke. The reason being that not only is it impossible to alter your own genetics, but you also cannot (and would not want to) change the effects cannabis has on your body.
You could smoke less of the stuff, but of course that’s not a realistic option!
On the plus side, hiding the evidence is certainly possible and so too is minimisng the obviousness of what you were clearly getting up to the night before. You could for example try:
- Shades – Easy and obvious (though not always practical), why not simply hide your eyeballs altogether? Much easier to get away with if you’re already a hipster, or slightly conceited!
- Water – The quicker you get yourself hydrated, the better. Drink it, splash it on your face, shower in it – anything to get you good and wet.
- Eye Drops – A genuinely brilliant option for helping undo the damage at least a little quicker. That is, if you’re willing to spend more than 50p on drops that actually work!
- Sleep – If you have the luxury of time on your side, nothing is more effective or enjoyable than just sleeping it off. Give it enough time and you’re golden,
Makeup – And finally, anyone that can get away with experimental eye makeup will undoubtedly find plenty of ways and means to at least give the perception of reduced redness. You’ll find plenty of makeup guides for hiding red eye online…some better than others!
