One of the things that separate the true pothead from the amateur is the way in which short-term memory loss is handled. In the case of an amateur or occasional smoker, short-term memory loss tends to be confusing and an issue of annoyance. What the hell was I talking about? Why did I come to the shop? What was I looking for? What have I been doing for the last few hours? Understandably disconcerting for some, but not for the seasoned pothead. Quite to the contrary in fact, potheads see short-term memory loss as an inevitable and enjoyable part of the process, which quite simply doesn’t bother them in the slightest. Instead of focusing on what they can’t remember, they focus on the mellowness of the moment itself and relax.
